Blanch the mushrooms in water and strain. Sauté chopped onion till it turns golden brown in colour. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and sauté well. Add chopped tomatoes, crushed pepper, salt and cook well. Add the blanched mushrooms and cook for some more time. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Kalan Melagu Varuval can be taken mixed with rice and also as a side dish.
