Re-launch Of the Taj Palace Hotel
|
Through a series of steady and systematic steps, The Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, has been transforming from a convention-centre hotel to a more luxurious property. With structural and decorative changes, the hotel now has a set of revamped suites, banquets, restaurants and convention centres.
The highlight of this restructuring is the Grand Presidential Suite (GPS). It was opened just a few months ago, and it has already had Tony and Cherie Blair, Lakshmi Mittal and a stream of sheikhs as guests. Suite is a diminutive word for the GPS. With 10 rooms, it seems to be not a house but rather a mansion. It has every possible convenience and the most whimsical luxuries. The GPS includes a large bedroom, a dining room, pantry, study, gym, spa, master bathroom and guest bathroom.
Fine attention to detail has ensured that the books in the library range from classical reads to contemporary coffee books. There is even a Bang and Olufsen television in the master bathroom, said to be the only customised Bang and Olufsen television in India. The bathroom has a tropical rain shower from Dornbracht. The chandeliers are made of Swarovski crystal.
The idea behind the plan of the GPS was to ensure that its residents can avail themselves of all the hotel’s facilities without ever having to leave their room. Constructed for those who value and require privacy and security, the GPS is completely a world in itself.
