CHEWON THIS

Scotch pie

A savoury dish, and a Scottish favourite, eaten by the millions, especially at football games, where it’s had with Bovril. Traditionally made from minced mutton, but increasingly made from beef. Pepper and salt are the traditional spices, but curry and Thai flavours have also entered the scene. It’s sold across the U.K. in restaurants and takeaways, as well as in fish and chip shops. Pie making recipes are kept a closely guarded secret by the well-known pie shops, and the World Scotch Pie competition every year is testimony to the spreading popularity of this pastry.
