I’m the Barbie girl!


So it’s Barbie’s 50th anniversary and everyone, except the doll, is ageing over who is going to be the Indian face of Barbie. When rumours first did the rounds about Aishwarya Rai being ‘the doll’, opinions were divided and suggestions from Dia Mirza to Kareena Kapoor to Katrina Kaif were thrown up. But Katrina it is who finally made it as the Indian face of Barbie at the Lakme Fashion Week. Nonetheless, Ash’s spokesperson issued a note stating time constraints for Ash’s refusal to be Barbie. Apparently, Mattel had approached Ash even at the turn of the century to become their Barbie but time was a problem even then. Ash’s loss is Kat’s gain, we think.
