What’s in, what’s out?

IN VOGUE Model puts her best face forward at Lakme Fashion Week

Here are a few trends in make-up, eyes, lips, cheeks, hair and nails from Blossom Kochchar for 2009.

Make-up

The 40s and 50s look is in vogue. (Think Grace Kelly and Victoria Lake!)

Eyebrows

Must be nicely shaped and the ark should be visible.

Eyes

Smoky is in. Liners are out; pencils are in — in colour (blues and greens). Illuminating under eye creams are the fad. Preferred eye shadow colours are grey, cream, blues and green. False eye lashes are in, especially those near the corners for that sexy look. Glitters are out and shimmer is in.

Cheek bone

Highlight is back in fashion. Use colours such as peaches and pinks to contour your cheek bones.

Lips

Matte is in, lip gloss is out; lip balm is in, as are pink lips. Colours to look for include plums, peaches and raspberry red

Skin primers

Are in. Also, pre-makeup and skin enhancers are the fad

Hair

Side-parting is the way. Voluminous hair is back, Waves and versatile bangs are in.

Nails

High maintenance nails are out. Regular nails are in, as is colourless nail polish.
