HARSHIKAA UDASI

Vidya turns Buddha

That’s what actress Vidya Balan says of her experience working with Amitabh Bachchan. “If I thought I was a patient person, after meeting and working with Mr Bachchan I have turned into Buddha,” she says. Vidya has been interacting with the Big B on the sets of “Paa” and has also worked with him in “Eklavya”. Apparently the senior actor’s passion for his work and patience in dealing with the vagaries of Bollywood has had a calming effect on the young one.

Keep it up!

Sanjay Suri is a popular actor but one who chooses his films with care. Now the actor has given his nod for the home production of the National Film Development Corporation of India’s (NFDC) — “As The River Flows”. The movie t ells the story of a journalist named Abhijit Shandilya (Sanjay) who is caught in a multi-layered world of intriguing happenings in the largest inhabited river island in the world, Majuli in Assam. The movie, a socio-political thriller, talks of social conflicts and individual commitments in an age where being self centred is the norm. It is being directed by National Award winning filmmaker Bidyut Kotoky.

So Salman’s “Dus Ka Dam — Season 2” on TV begins this week. After all the noise about no celebs on the show, the Kapoor sisters (Kareena and Karisma) are expected to lend some glam to his quizzing. You already know the bit about Salman putting his foot down and making it clear that he will not use his personal equations with the starry types to ensure star presence on the show and that the channel would have to manage everything on its own. Apparently, the sisters may have said ‘yes’ to the channel but only because it is Sallu bhai’s show. Wonder if Salman’s goodwill is reaping dividends or has there been some money play?
