Favourite spot Enjoying every moment

M.S.S. WAKF BOARD COLLEGE

The Hangout: Under the tree

Rush Hour: Breaks and any free time

Where it’s at: Behind the NCC office.

What’s to love: Once seated with their friends here, they lay complete siege. The hotspot is particularly safe from the watchful eyes of strict professors.

“The cool, shady and calm milieu gives peace of mind. We also let our hair down, with fun unlimited and no inhibitions,” says H. Faizal.

“Little we realise how time flies under the beloved tree once we start jabbering,” laughs N. Nagaraj.

This is the place where the students hold out endless conversations about most inane things and sometime sensible topics too.

“Our sensible talk is about the college’s hard and fast rules and why we could not break them,” quips A. Ahamed Kabir.

“After watching college life in Tamil films, we entered the premises with lot of hope, thinking of enjoying only fun-filled moments. But on the contrary, the college is too strict,” remarks G. Bhiman. “But even then we are enoying our time as we have formed a group of friends under this shady tree,” chips in A. Gulam Dastagir.

“We are yet to learn the knack of enjoying college life to the hilt as we are still fresh from schools. Probably in the second year, we will fare well,” giggles S. Mohammed Nasser.

Their discussions are mostly framed around cinema, heroines, comedy track and story line and how music directors have copied the music from their seniors. They also discuss hot and current topics and elections had been their latest buzz.

With most of the students in part-time jobs at various shops and firms, sharing their funny and grim moments with respective employers is another interesting time pass.

“Life as such is tough for us. We are the target of our professors, parents and employers. But when we are together, we push back sadness and let happiness emerge. It enthuses our morale,” says A.Sowkath Ali.

What’s not to: There is a ban on talking about studies and books under the tree. It is permitted only during the examination season.

Alternatives: The canteen where the coffee adds to the cheer and the vehicle stand where they can do some ‘bird’ watching.
