VEGETABLE ROLL

New Chennai Hot Puffs and Chips 48, P.T. Rajan Road, Narimedu. Madurai. Phone: 9842681535

The crispy and tasty vegetable roll sells like hot cakes. For making it, maida flour along with yeast and salt is made into a dough and flattened like a chapati. Masala comprising cooked tomatoes, carrot, green peas, onion and potatoes are spread on the flour and rolled. The roll is dipped in the liquefied milk powder and again rolled on the bread crumbs. It is then allowed to dry for half-an-hour before putting in the oven. The half-baked roll is taken and fried deep in the oil to get the golden brown vegetable roll.

Price: Rs.5 (one piece).

Bottomline: A safe snack
