Good shot

For Ishant Sharma, this was an experience of a different kind. Sharing his experience with 16 bright winners of Pepsi’s “First Ball ka Captain” promotion, the ace cricketing star from Delhi was all energy.

“It has been a pleasure to interact with fellow cricket enthusiasts and share some bowling experiences of mine. I hope the winners enjoy this wonderful experience of bowling the ceremonial ball to some of the most acclaimed legends in cricket, which will be viewed by millions of people,” said Ishant at the recent event held in the city.

The 16 winners would travel to London for the ICC World Twenty20 and each would be allowed to bowl a ball to an iconic and legendary cricketer like Jonty Rhodes, Dilip Vengsarkar, Nasser Hussain, Alec Stewart and Graham Gooch before the start of the match.

Ishant, who interacted with the winners on the occasion, had a word of advice for them. “Thanks to cricket, I have matured as a person. My personal mantra is that I never take either success or failure too seriously. One has to always follow one’s dreams and passions with fierce determination and a winning attitude.”
