Sathyam Cinemas and Real Image Media Technologies enter film production

Romantic comedy "Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru"
Sathyam Cinemas and Real Image Media Technologies have together brought us the latest in cinema technology be from digital sound to digital 3-D movies. Now, the two have announced another first —a Tamil film production, “Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru”.
“It will be shot, edited, colour-graded and released entirely in digital, says Jayendra Panchapakesan, co-founder of Real Images ”.
The movie is a character-driven romantic comedy starring Ajmal (of “Anjaathey” and “4777” fame) and newcomer Rupa. Both story and direction are by first-timer Nandhini J.S., whose short film “Ottam” won two Tamil Nadu State Awards in 2003.
“We’ve always looked at giving something back to Tamil cinema,” said Swaroop Reddy, director of Sathyam Cinemas. “We wanted to work with good scripts and promote young talent, and we were really kicked when Nandhini came to us with her script.”
“Everyone tells me how lucky I am that Sathyam Cinemas and Real Image are making my first film — I can barely believe it. It’s overwhelming,” said Nandhini. She describes “Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru” as a fun and realistic story about a boy and girl who’re complete opposites and can’t seem to agree on anything. “I’ve always felt the friendship between a boy and girl has never been depicted naturally on screen,” she commented. “This is not a celebrity-driven movie; I want people to come because they hear it’s good entertainment.”
Says Ajmal, “For the first time, I’ll be performing in a single-hero movie, giving my own voice and acting in a comedy.” For debutant Rupa, who was selected from among several other young women who auditioned, it’s quite simply a dream come true.
“I’m sure it will deliver in terms of technical quality and entertainment value,” said Tan Ngaronga, CEO Sathyam Cinemas. “It’s definitely the type of movie we want to show at Sathyam.”
