Software, not-so-soft
Kasporav, as the name suggests, is a Russian computer software security provider which claims to provide an efficient yet user friendly software. They realised India’s mass market potential and hence landed in New Delhi. Alexander Gnatusin Director of Channel, SA and Aadil Haveliwala vice president Zoom Technologies announced their arrival. Mobile phone tracker, Internet security and technical support the Kaspersky lab has it all.
The products can be divided into Internet security, which includes anti-virus software priced at Rs.1559 for a single piece, security for smart phones at Rs.1258 and an anti-virus software priced at Rs.1169, with an expected sales of $6-$8 million. There has been a 5 per cent drop in sales during recession but for them it is just a bubble that will burst.
Though just venturing into the Indian market, they boast of a long list of customers like the Andhra Pradesh police department, Vishal Megamart, SAIL, Mumbai University and IIM Ahmedabad. They want to beat Semantics, considered their biggest Indian competitor.
