I have lots of hair on my face. I am also dark and have oily skin and pimples. — Sukanya
The main effort should be to control pimples. Wash your face twice a day, morning and night, with a medicated soap. Then wipe it with an astringent lotion, using cotton wool. Astringent lotion will be available at a cosmetic store. Apply sandalwood paste on the pimples daily and leave on for at least one hour. Once daily, at any time, mix one teaspoon each of honey and lemon juice and apply on the face. Wash it off with plain water after 15 minutes. Mix multani mitti with rose water and lemon juice into a paste and apply on the face two or three times a week. Wash it off when it dries. These two remedies will also help to lighten skin colour. Home remedies do not remove facial hair. They are said to lessen facial hair growth if used regularly over a period of time. Apply a paste of turmeric powder and milk and rub this on the skin with a circular motion. It is said to discourage facial hair, but it may leave a slight yellowish colour on the skin.
I have oily skin. What should I do to have normal skin? — Shreya
Buy an astringent lotion. Mix it with rose water in equal quantities. Keep in a bottle in the fridge. After washing your face, wipe it with this lotion, using cotton wool. You can also wipe the face with this lotion whenever the skin feels oily. Mix multani mitti with rose water into a paste and apply daily. Wash it off when it is dry. Avoid creams and moisturizers. Use only oil-free products, like day cream for oily skin. Include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts and yogurt in your daily diet. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Add the juice of a lemon to a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.
