Smoked to perfection

Smoke House Grill has everything a fine dining restaurant can boast of

Fire and smoke The menu offers variety

Smoke House Grill has a lot of fire and no smoke. And to think most of its dishes have been smoked to perfection! It is the process of flavouring or cooking food by exposing it to smoke from smouldering hardwoods like oak, maple, apple and cherry wood, thereby lending a delightful taste to the original creation. Replete with a completely Indian atmosphere to go with the choicest wines, this restaurant is ideally situated. Located in South Delhi, where the cream of the upwardly mobile crowd stays, the restaurant offers all that a fine dining restaurant can boast of. It has variety in cuisine, a well stocked bar to go with piped music. To complement the mood, a VJ with a live performance every week.

As you enter the restaurant an atmosphere of complete serenity welcomes you.

Cooling

As you begin your meal, the Duet of Lemon Versus Feta served with balsamic onion dressing and seared spinach helps you to cool till the stomach. You can also go for smoked duck and water chestnut salad with Asian sesame dressing. Here you will realise this is one place where you should laze around with your food, enjoying some peaceful moments. Of course the generally courteous staff helps you to make the right selection. A request to serve food prepared without alcohol is promptly met. One gets to enjoy different soups on offer such as tomato and lemon grass broth, duck and roast pumpkin, spiced coconut, and so on. Moving on to the main course, one gets to savour John Dory and smoked shimla chilly. A de-boned fillet of John Dory marinated with lime juice, salt and pepper, the fish is pan-fried. It is soft, creamy and juicy. Lightly smoked duck breast is soft right up to the bones and hence easy on your teeth, with a somewhat different taste provided by smoking. The Norwegian Salmon is again a pan-fried fish dish, marinated with lime juice and treated in the oven to give a crispy flavour. Smoked chicken and goat cheese has small pieces of chicken and goat cheese with caramelised onion, baked and served with aragulla dressing and taken with pesto sauce.

The menu is as big as one can imagine, offering a lot of seafood dishes and vegetarian delicacies. In the dessert section go for the baked yogurt — curd, butter, cream and condensed milk baked for nearly 20 minutes, it will leave you craving more. Other desserts offered are crème brulée, vanilla panacotta, hot chocolate fondant and so on. A meal for two, including the drinks, will cost you Rs.3500 (excluding taxes).
