That packaging has carved out a niche for itself as an industry became evident as the first batch of qualified packaging professionals from Magnificence’s Academy of Packaging Professionals (MAPP) showcased a collection of packaging products The academy, a brainchild of Shalini Beriwal was set up only earlier this year.

Beriwal says, “Many talented artisans in Old Delhi area used to suffer in poor conditions just because they didn’t know how to market and develop their products. Since the advent of the industry, they have started doing well.” The students displayed products based on a single idea using cloth, paper, wood, crystals, and acrylic. The industry holds appeal to festive, bridal and corporate gifting.
