First, twice in a row

British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards saw the eighth generation, 4.5-litre D-4D engined Toyota Land Cruiser V8 bag the number one spot in the large 4x4 category for the second year running.

Consumer awareness

The awards that are aimed at raising consumer awareness of what is best in vehicle security, was held at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham, Berkshire last week. Judging of cars is based on the New Vehicle Security Rating Scheme (NVSR), where vehicles are assessed on points awarded under the categories of ‘theft of’ and ‘theft from’ the vehicle, with the winner achieving the highest overall score.

The Land Cruiser V8 has the ability to seat seven, as well as a host of sophisticated handling, suspension and drive train systems that exhibited outstanding levels of safety, comfort and secure handling in both the rough and on the open road.
