Sneak Peek The Nepal Tourism Board has exciting packages for Indians
“Our objective is to promote Nepal as a destination for Indian tourists. It’s our goal to attract more and more Indian tourists by 2011. Basically we provide a platform between travel agents and customers,” says Sonal Saigal, Marketing Consultant, Nepal Tourism Board (India).
Recently Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) launched the “Nepal tourism year-2011” campaign with the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi, Nepal Airlines and the Nepalese private sector at V3S East Centre mall, Laxmi Nagar, with the aim of making Nepal a tourist destination for Indians.
The purpose of this campaign is to inform people about special offers like Nepal holiday packages, attractive discount packages, Kailash Mansarovar tirtha yatras, etc. with the hope of increasing Indian tourists to Nepal.
To promote tourists, they have run campaigns in Jalandar, Indore, Lucknow, Varanasi through road shows, newspaper campaigns, radio jingles, etc. A quiz competition was also a part of the campaign.
“With this campaign we want to restore the image of Nepal and create awareness about tourist places,” asserted Gobinda Oli, senior officer, Tourism Marketing and Promotion.
By revealing the culture, nature, architecture of Nepal to Indians, the hope is that tourism will increase. Nepal offers a range of options from religious tourism to adventure. Its temperate climate and proximity make it a feasible destination for Indians. With Indian currency being accepted in Nepal, it might just be time to book your tickets.
