Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the first West Indian cricketer of Indian origin to have played in 100 Test matches. He is also the only batsman in Test cricket to have faced 1000 consecutive balls without getting out. Another record that stands in his name is that he is has averaged more than 100 in two consecutive calendar years.

After retiring from cricket, former West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose now plays guitar in a reggae band called ‘Big Bad Dread and The Baldhead’ along with former captain and team-mate Richie Richardson. According to Ian Botham, Ambrose was always a very detached person and hardly ever spoke to anyone.

Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik says that a doctor specialising in sports psychology helped the team to emerge winners in the T20 World Cup. According to Malik, the doctor used hypnotism to make the players believe that they had the potential to become world champs, and it worked wonders.
