A sliver of Hong Kong

Four films will be screened as part of a ‘Wong Kar Wai Retrospective’

INTENSE DRAMA From "Fallen Angels"

Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, in association with Palador Films, organises a ‘Wong Kar Wai Retrospective’ on July 6 and 7 at the South Indian Film Chamber Theatre, 606, Anna Salai. On July 6, “In the mood for love” (6.15 p.m.) and “Fallen Angels” (7.45 p.m.) will be screened. On July 7, “Happy Together” (6.15 p.m.) and “Chungking Express” (8 p.m.) will be screened.

“In the mood for love” revolves around Chow Mo-wan, who rents a room in Honk Kong apartment building. The same day, Su Li-zhen moves in next door, soon they discover that their spouses have an affair. A very hurt Chow wants to find out how it happened.

“Fallen Angels” is about a disillusioned killer embarking on his last hit. But before that he must overcome his affection for his cool and detached partner.

“Happy Together” is the story of Yiu-Fai and Po-Wing, who come to Argentina from Hong Kong for a holiday. They part ways only to meet later, but their lives have changed, and will remain thus.

“Chungking Express” tells two stories — of two lovelorn cops and their objects of desire — one a heroin dealer, and the other, a waitress.
