Kareena Kapoor on “Kambakht Ishq”

Kareena Kapoor is barely out of sight. If she isn’t seen in a film, stories about her relationships and fitness keep doing the rounds. But this time, she flew from London to Delhi to meet the media and promote her forthcoming film Kambakht Ishq. A remake of the 2002 Tamil film Pammal K. Sambandam, the Hindi version is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

It stars Akshay Kumar with whom Kareena has made a comeback several years after Aitraaz. Aftab Shivdasani and Amrita Arora would be seen in supporting roles.

Kareena arrived late at the press conference but made up for the embarrassment with her smile and quick answers.

Flashing a grin she said, “I play a supermodel Samrita Rai in the film. The role is totally different from my other characters. Samrita believes that there is no need to have a man in her life and feels that there is no such thing such as love. There are reasons given in the film for that. She meets a stuntman Viraj Shergill (Akshay) who has his own take on love. There meeting results in a unique love story. It is basically a bond between two entirely different characters”.

In an attempt to mix Hollywood with Bollywood, well known actors like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Valance also appear in the film, playing themselves.

The film that was supposed to release in June end got delayed because of “excessive production work” the director said. Now it is slated to release on July 3.
