Noble gesture from Rotary
Bringing smiles Members of Rotary Club-Visakhapatnam at the school
Rotary Club- Visakhapatnam donated the much needed school equipment to MVDM High School in the Old Town area on June 26. The equipment included a water purification plant, a fully equipped computer lab and school benches.
As part of its up-gradation programme of schools that are under the GVMC, the club has equipped two other schools at Dondaparthy and Allipuram. The total cost of equipment donated comes to about Rs. 17 lakhs, which were mobilised from Rotary International as part of the matching grant programme of Rotary Club- Visakhapatnam and Rotary Club of Henry County, USA.
In tune with the understanding with GVMC under the ‘Sweekaram’ programme the school will now be called as Rotary MVDM High School.
The facilities were inaugurated by Visakha-South MLA Dronamraju Srinivas in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of GVMC N. Mohan Rao, District Education Officer Vijay Kumar, Rotary District Governor M.V Prasad, past Rotary District Governor Chaya Devi, project co-ordinator P.N.V. Vidyasagar and other club members.
The meeting was chaired by the President of the club Mayank Kumari Deo.
