Konangal, the film society will screen In the mood for love over the week-end. A story of unrequited love, the film has been directed by Hong Kong-based Wong Kar-wai. Wong belonged to the mid-1980s Second New Wave of Hong Kong film makers. He is known to have continued to develop the innovative and fresh aesthetic sensibilities initiated by the original First Wave. The sense of history and nostalgia that pervades In the Mood for Love is a signature of Wong’s style. With history and nostalgia, however, come change and the notion of ‘before’ and ‘after’.
