QUICK TIPS
For hormonal balance
Hormone replacement therapy could benefit ageing men, according to one study. As a person grows old, the blood vessels get thicker, which increases the load on the heart and ups blood pressure.
According to a report in the European Journal of Endocrinology, men with low levels of testosterone had stiffer arteries than those with normal levels. Needless to say that with age, there is a drop in natural testosterone production in men. Hormone replacement therapy in such cases was found to have some benefit in reducing stiffness of blood vessels, thereby enhancing cardiac health. Experts suggest that people make weight training, cardiovascular training and proper eating part of their daily regimen to ensure optimum natural hormonal release as they age.
