slim and trim Kareena Kapoor at the launch

After size zero pizzas, it’s time for size zero laptops. Consumer electronics brand Sony has just roped in actor Kareena Kapoor to become the brand ambassador for the world’s first size zero laptop. In a glitzy launch in the Capital the o ther day, Kareena sashayed down the ramp in a peach dress carrying the half-inch laptop literally like a hand clutch. A visibly excited managing director of Sony, Masaru Tamagawa, compared the ultra slim product to the actor’s svelte figure and said, “Kareena is perfect for endorsing this product of Sony VAIO X series. She is slim and sexy and her image fits the product like a glove. Her dynamism combined with our brand expertise aims to provide something new and interesting to the consumers.”

The product weighs a mere 655 grams and is only half an inch wide. The thin profiling is just the beginning. The Sony VAIO X series is encased in a lightweight yet sturdy carbon fibre which should go down well with business users.

Kareena is the first Indian to be the ambassador of this brand which is endorsed by the likes of Britney Spears in the West. When asked if she was the desi Britney, she laughed without comment.

Instead, she said chasing excellence is what she deems as her aim in life. “Sony produces high-end products of exquisite quality. I always associate myself with quality and thus this alliance seems perfect. I lend my name to products that suit my personality type. Sony VAIO is slim and stylish; something I can easily relate with,” she said. Asserting her interest in technology and design, she said, “I am a gadget-friendly person and with this partnership with Sony I will be able to explore that domain in depth.”
