Poirot, dogs, husbands and tandoori chicken at evam's t stand-up comedy
|
Evam stages the first production of their seventh year — ‘Urban Turban', their first stand-up comedy. The actors share ‘tall tales from the top of our heads', their urban thoughts and theories, perspectives and peeves. No two shows are the same, they promise, and the stories are ‘of the urban, by the urban and for the urban!'
Karthik Kumar has failed the CAT, is in denial, and thinks he is Hercule Poirot; T.M. Karthik Srinivasan thinks he can act, thinks he can sing, thinks he can't dance and thinks about what to do after quitting his job; Rabhinder Kannan is in his first job, in his first serious relationship and nervous about his first time on stage; Shannon McDonnell has four dogs, one cat and one husband; and Navin Balachandran thinks our national bird should be tandoori chicken.
Directed by Sunil Vishnu K, ‘Urban Turban' will be staged at the Alliance Française on December 5 and 6, at 3 p.m., 5.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 150, and are available at all Landmark outlets, or online at www.bookmyshow.com. For more information, call 98402-22363 or 98402-81513.
