Depressing storylines

Most soaps are tearjerkers. The storylines are woven with tedious yarns of gloom and grief. Viewers addicted to them are bound to suffer from bouts of depression. The female protagonists are constantly mired in an ocean of trouble — treacherous in-laws, philandering husband and more. Small screen directors and producers need to think out-of-the-box and make sensible serials.
