Tupperware held a motivating session for women

Tupperware India, the well known food storage-and-serving company, organised an interactive session and direct business recruitment drive at Heinz auditorium of Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in New Delhi the other day. The focus of the session was empowerment of women by exploring business opportunities to meet their financial needs. Sonia Baweja, the company's Sales Development Manager for the northern region, said, “A woman is a giver at every stage of her life and the only one who can fulfil all the desires and challenges she faces. Dreams of her family become her own and her actual dreams fade with time.” She believes women by nature are multi-taskers while men are not.

The participants were motivated by the Tupperware team to join it through various exercises and product demonstrations. Sonia, along with Archana, the Marketing Trainer, asked them questions like, “What are your ‘smart' goals (Specific Measurable Action-oriented Realistic Time-bound goals)”, “When was the last time you did something for yourself,” and so on.

People associated with Tupperware were also invited to share their success stories. Shikha working with Ascent Party Sales shared how her fun-loving life changed after her marriage because of the responsibilities that came with it. She added, “When my baby was two-and-a-half, I joined Tupperware and after the first day of my training, I noted down all my dreams on a piece of paper to work towards them. Today, I am a confident lady and feel I am more of a kitchen-consultant or organiser. My husband used to refer to me as a homemaker earlier but now for him I am a working woman. That makes me feel great.” Tupperware started its operations in India 14 years ago with 12 products and five distributors. These have increased to 80 products and 82 distributors today. Its manufacturing unit is based in Hyderabad and it has a sales force of 70,000 women.
