Catching up Over a cup of tea

MAURYA INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT

The Hangout: Dil Pasand Tea House The Location: Mosque Road Rush Hour: After college hours What's to love: The location. `DP' as the students call it is situated on the happening Mosque Road dotted with eateries, shops and showrooms. It barely takes the students five minutes to get here even if they have to walk from college to this hangout.

Some of the students swear that DP serves the best Hyderabadi tea in the city. Those who live around the area have come to love this place which has been in existence for little over a decade now. Even non-tea drinkers frequent the place for the bakery items. While there's not enough room to sit around and chat, the boys usually come here for a quick sip before they make plans for the evening. DP is a favourite joint for students to catch up with old pals as well as befriend new ones.

Mosque Road also happens to be the place where one gets a chance to see a fair amount of sports cars and muscle bikes every day, reason enough for automobile lovers to want to hangout at DP. Quite obviously, it is during the monsoon that this tea stall is constantly abuzz.

What's not to: DP is too small to accommodate more than a handful of people at once. But the students don't think it's that big a drawback because they usually like sipping on some hot chai out in the open either standing in front of the tea stall or sitting on the bikes parked along the road.

Alternative: Savoury for the Arab cuisine and Hotel Empire for the biryani
