Morsels of pleasure

Nita Mehta's latest cookbook for kids

An unlikely segment has become a target of Nita Mehta's latest effort, which is a cookbook by the name of 101 Recipes for Children (Nita Mehta Publication).

The recipes in the book have been tried and tested on children of different ages. The author, who has more than 250 best selling cookery books to her credit, has taken special care of the tiffin box items and emphasised on the appeal factor of the food. The other categories covered in the book are snacks and meal time dishes. A special section on sandwiches and shakes have also been included to cater to the special cravings of teenagers.

She believes that snacks should be like finger-food that little fingers can pick up with ease. Meal time dishes should be simple but of a high standard, something that the child will learn to appreciate for the rest of his life.

“The dinner table becomes a battle field with your child disliking your every effort. But I can assure you 101 recipes for children will help bring back the smile on your kid's face and peace back on the dinner table,” says the author, who won the Best Asian Cookbook Award for her book Flavours of Indian Cooking.
