This Malayalam film directed by C. P. Padmakumar narrates the tale of a mysterious woman named Pennu who creates a stir among the men folk in the rural village to which she has temporarily relocated, in search of her missing uncle. Her realtionhsip with Ummini, a local trader, causes Chindan, a sugar mill operator, to mistakenly knife Ambu, a Dalit. Chindan then kills himself. Will Pennu be forced to leave the village? Murali and Kukku Parameshwaran star in the lead.

The film is based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's ‘The Meek One.' This is the saga of a Mumbai-based antique dealer-cum-money lender, who at the age of 40, marries a 17-year-old woman, and brings her to his spacious home in a high-rise. Their marriage is not a happy one, for his bride is still immersed in her dark past. The film explores their complex life. Dirceted by Mani Kaul, this Hindi films stars A.A. Baig, Asha Dandavate and Shekhar Kapur.

Intolerable Cruelty

Miles (George Clooney) is a successful Beverly Hills lawyer specialising in divorces. When he takes on the case of rich client Rex Rexroth, he finds that beautiful Marylin Rexroth (Catherine Zeta Jones) is the scheming, gold-digger who will fight tooth and nail to gain a formidable chunk of her soon-to-be ex-husband's fortune. But she loses the case, thanks to Massey's legal skills. Now she's out for revenge, and this won't be the last time she will be crossing swords with Massey.
