Spin offs

Shane Warne hops between cricket and clothes

FOR THE LOVE Of cricket

He is one of the best spinners on the planet and was the lynchpin of an Australian bowling quartet that dominated world cricket in the first decade of the 21 {+s} {+t} century.

He was the principal contributor in Australia's hat trick of World Cup wins (1999, 2003, 2007) He also led a group of virtual unknowns — Rajasthan Royals — to win the first edition of the IPL. Shane Warne is in love with India. “I like the people and their passion for cricket. It is this passion that has helped them secure a successful World Cup campaign recently.”

For a 42 year old, one wonders what motivates him to play the game? “The IPL is an excellent way to promote talent from across the world. It has made careers of many Indian and international players, who are forming the new cricketing generation. I love the game and enjoy providing inputs to the youngsters and moulding them to be great cricketers.”

Rajasthan Royals have not met with much success in the current edition of the IPL yet, but Warne feels that a turnaround will happen soon.
