STAY SEATED

Responses to the music season from a cross-section of the audience

I have been a regular attendant at the concerts during the season. There are certain things I wish to highlight here: No one, however important he might be, should be allowed to walk in front of the stage during a concert. Organisers should make sure that people enter or leave only in between two items. If any one needs to go out frequently, he/she should see to it that they get a corner seat.

Another irritant is the decibel level. Artistes, please do not ask for the amplification to be raised constantly and make it unpleasant for the listeners. And do announce the composition and the raga for the layman's benefit. And why can the audience not wait for the end of a song before applauding?

M. Venkatraman,
