Responses to the music season from a cross-section of the audience

My memory goes back 50 years, to the days when with my friends I would attend the concerts of Parthasarathy Swamy Sabha.

A resident of Triplicane, it was part of growing up with everyone attending some concert or the other for a month.

Looking back, it is surprising that I actually enjoyed the four-hour concerts of GNB, Musiri and Ariyakkudi. These days children do not have that kind of attention span or patience. Concerts often went on up to midnight in those days, and we would sit up. Of course, school was no pressure.
