Brilliant violin duet

Responses to the music season from a cross-section of the audience

I consider the Ganesh-Kumaresh violin duet brilliant. They agree that they have experimented in novel ways, presumably within the grammar of classicism.

I have been listening to classical music for a long time. I like it. Many of the youngsters are extremely good. The Chennai Music Fest provides ample opportunities to showcase fresh talent. Some of them really deserve to move to the prestigious evening slot. Over-exposure? Yes. I agree, especially in the case of certain popular artistes. But by and large, we should be proud that Chennai is the only place in the world to host such a unique festival.
