Well conducted

Responses to the music season from a cross-section of the audience

The music festival is being conducted admirably well, though it is true that the number of sabhas has increased manifold. I am from Mumbai and have made it a point to attend the festival. I feel our music can do better if percussion is played without the mike. I am an AIR artiste and am with NABARD. Today I have dropped everything to listen to the nagaswaram recital of Injikkudi Subramaniam. His play has the quality of sharp notes that is sruthi suddham and laya suddham. And I think he has touches of Bismillah Khan.

Rohini Venkatachalam,

Nungambakkam
