LISTENER'S POST

SPECIAL RECITALS

Respones to the music season from a cross-section of the audience

When one talks of Tamil compositions, it is always Papanasam Sivan, Arunachala Kavirayar and many others of that kind. They are no doubt great composers, but theirs is what is known as `manipravala nadai'. The real test of good Tamil pronunciation and abilities, would be when Thiruppugazh or Thiruppavai and Thiruvembavai are sung properly, of course, without the aid of paper or laptop. Such exclusive concerts can be given some special incentives.

V.Kothandaraman,

Kilpauk.
