Kalarasana featured Aiswarya on the violin at Rani Seethai Hall. Her Panthuvarali and Thodi alapanas showed that she was on her voyage to the shores of music and would be at her end point, soon. Nevertheless, attempting a Ragam Tanam Pallavi (Thodi), at her level was a bit far-fetched.
Maturity in art can never come from without and one-day eulogies need not reflect the quality of your performance. Her approach to raga alapana had a developer's outlook, which assures her of a good future. She also played `Hecharikagarara' (YadukulaKhambodi-Tyagaraja), `Jagadodharana' (Purandara dasa) and the nottuswaram.
Vellore Ramabhadran as the mridangist transformed himself to be the guiding force to the young violinist and underplayed himself. Vinodh Venkatraman's (kanjira) function was to be the consultant and controlling force. Aiswarya, as an instrumentalist, should have sung the conventional pallavi and explained the talam, eduppu and lyrics before presenting it on the violin. The audience strength was reasonably high for an early afternoon concert.
