Jayanthi mahotsavam
The 90th year Jayanthi Mahotsavam of Jagadguru Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Mahaswamigal (35th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam) will be conducted from December 5 to 9 at Balamandir German Hall, 17, Prakasam Street, T.Nagar.
The following is the list of programmes to be held on the occasion: Bhakthi Sangeetham daily at 5 p.m.; namasankeertanam and bhajan by Udaiyalur K. Kalyanarama Bhagavathar on December 5; compositions on Lord Shiva to be rendered by S. Sowmya on December 6; compositions on Ambal to be presented by S. P. Ramh on December 7; compositions of Sri Sringeri Jagadguru to be rendered by Bharathi Ramasubban and Amritha Murali on December 8 and compositions of Sri Sadasiva Brahmendral to be rendered by Vijayalakshmy Subramaniam on December 9.
The other programmes to be held daily at 7 p.m. are discourses on ‘Life and Teachings of Sri Sundaramurthy Nayanar’ by Sengalipuram Brahmasri B. Damodara Deekshitar.
M. S. Sundara Rajan (Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Bank) will inaugurate this five-day function.
On the concluding day (December 9), T. S. R. Subramanian, Former Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, will release a new audio CD titled, ‘Tetrad of Qualifications,’ containing a benedictory discourse of Sri Abhinava Vidyatheertha Mahaswamigal.
