Apology
We regret to say that the article “Tackling the canker called ragging” (“Open Page”, August 22, 2010) by Bibhakar Saha had large portions in the text amounting to plagiarism. It was largely based on an article “Ragging in Educational Institutes: A Human Rights Perspective,” written by Madhavi Chopra, and published at the website www.legalserviceindia.com on August 26, 2006.
The Hindu expresses its disapproval of this act of plagiarism and conveys its apology to Ms. Chopra for publishing the article.
