A good option in plasters

Sinicon Controls Private Limited at Kanjikode, Palakkad, is planning to set up a joint venture plant with Prately Group of South African to manufacture Pratliperl, a ‘wonder plaster and concrete aggregate’ marketed as Sinicon PP. The product is also a replacement for sand, now imported from South Africa and marketed in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, UAE etc., by Sinicon.

“It is derived from a special kind of volcanic glass, a large deposit of which is found only in South Africa,” V. Revindran, Managing Director of Sinicon, said adding that “the special feature of this product is that it is like sand, heat-resistant, flame retardant, and does not change its structure under any severe fire, heat or in a cool temperature.”

The product can be used for plastering, heat proofing screed/tiles, lightweight concrete screed for metal roof, building floors, fire proofing of structures and architectural applications. It is a must-use product for the construction of industrial buildings, info parks, shopping malls, apartments, flats, villas, houses, offices, etc, he said.

Mr. Revindran said that differential cost from conventional plastering to Sinicon PP is advantageous to its users.

Assuming that the cost of fine plastering sand is Rs.3,000 per 100 cubic feet with 80 per cent usability, by using SINICON PP the increase in cost shall be around Rs.12 per sq. ft. This additional amount can be adjusted against the saving on putty finish and also in recurring cost.
