Most of the pest control experts make it clear that apart from professional help, the owner also has to play an important role in managing the scourge of pests.
“We have seen that some insects become active when it is warmer while others prefer winter. Chemicals used by pest control companies should be bio-friendly,” points out P. Dhanraj from Matrix Pest Control Systems.
Typically, the pest companies are charging anywhere from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 4,000 to treat furniture and other stuff for a two-bed room house. “The rates vary depending on the type of pest that a particular house is infested with. For treating a house or an office with termite resistance chemicals, it would cost Rs. 3, 500,” informed T. Srinivas of New Indian Pest Control Company.
Experts point out that cockroach is the most common house pests pose a threat to health. “Small gaps are used by them to gain entry. Maintaining cleanliness is the key. One should not leave food articles in the open,” points Amit Kumar from Integrated Pest Control Systems.
