Gardening in monsoon is ideal
After searing summer heat, the mercury has already come down and plans to dip further in coming days and the microclimate is just what plants yearn for. “It is favourable time and natural conditions suit for garden work,” says M.M.Hussain of Plants Land.
“The maximum growth for a plant happens in summer. Colder conditions mean dormancy and for growth, an ideal temperature range for tropical plants is around 27 degree Celsius to 29 degree Celsius,” says Mr.Hussain.
Just like scarcity of water is a problem for plants, excess of rains that leaves them in puddles too is not good.
In water logged conditions, the plants express their unease by wilting.
Some plants do enjoy water logged conditions but their numbers is small, Mr.Hussain points.
In cities where water scarcity is a major issue and one has to struggle to find aqua needed to nourish growing sapling and give a shape to a patch of greenery around home, this is right time
