Polymer products catching on

Plastic variant products for interior applications such as wall panelling and false ceilings, windows and doors and PR-Pipes in plumbing are more and more catching the imagination of builders in the State as was evident at a recent presentation of new products from Reliance Polymers.

New products

More than 70 builders, architects, interior designers were present at a presentation on the new lines of products by N. Muraleedharan, general manager (Business Development).

Mr. Muraleedharan said that bubble guard sheets for wall panelling, false ceilings, door and tile protection offered a cost-effective and efficient alternative to conventional products from gypsum or particle boards, aluminium or galvanised iron sheets, etc.

Non-toxic

Bubble guard sheets are 100 per cent recyclable, non-toxic and are resistant to most known chemicals.

Use of PP-R pipes too have spread rapidly across the globe, said Mr. Muraleedharan in his presentation.

Random copolymer pipes have applications ranging from the industrial to sanitary use. They are much more versatile compared to GI pipes.

PP-R pipes are corrosion resistant, have low thermal conductivity, provide leak-proof joints, avoid reduction in diameter at weld points, can be used both for hot and cold water and claim a life of 50 years.
