South Africans get the NAC edge
The National Academy of Construction (NAC), a premier Hyderabad-based institute that impart training in various construction and design practices, is busy honing the skills of trainees from abroad. The present batch has 100 South Africans flying down to pick up skills here for three months.
The curriculum, which lays more stress on practical learning, cover the five trades of electrical wiring, plumbing and sanitation, form work carpentry, painting, decoration and welding. Most trainees are from rural South Africa and have come here at the initiative of Confederation of Indian Industry and a South African NGO, Umsobomyu Youth Fund.
