Now that’s called standing tall!
Making a mark: Bearys Lakside Habitat is standing tall in North Bangalore.
When the Public Utility Building was getting its final touches, people wondered why the building had grown so tall, as one couldn’t get a glimpse of its uppermost floor even from the road beneath. But that was decades ago when we had no idea of what tall buildings looked like. That’s history now, as tall buildings, even residential, are fast cropping up to enliven the skyline of Bangalore.
The latest to join the tall scene is Jain Heights’ ‘Altura’ on Sarjapur Road in South Bangalore. “South Bangalore Gets a New Landmark,” says a bold claim in the builder’s brochure. Jain Heights & Structures, actively into lifestyle residential buildings, has announced the launch of their landmark residential project, and the structure prides on being the tallest skyscraper to come up in South Bangalore, with a height of 24 storeys. Accessible to Electronic city, airport and the city centre, Altura encompasses a total of 91 apartments spread over an area of one acre, rising majestically with an elevation inspired from Middle East Architecture, and is expected to be complete by March 2010. Two and three bedroom apartment here spreads over an area ranging from 1200 sq. ft to 1575 sq ft. Wooden tile flooring for all bedrooms and designer marble for living and dining rooms form the other features.
Says Kishore Jain, Managing Director, Jain Heights, “Altura features a spectacular 270 degree view of all apartments which ensures unhindered air flow besides a host of premium lifestyle amenities, opening doors to 91 families with four apartments on each floor.
“This new skyscraper in Bangalore, says Kishore Jain, will contribute to the vertical growth, helping the skylines to resemble that of Singapore or New York.”
Bangalore is witnessing a vertical growth due to increased demand in housing and the IT boom is a major factor responsible for the changing skylines.
“One of the key advantages of building vertical projects rather than horizontal is that up to 85 per cent of our ground space is available for landscaping and resident amenities which adds value to our projects, while the safety angle conforms to all the requirements as per international standards,” Mr. Jain added.
Jain Heights are also planning to get into the retail space including shopping and entertainment centres and quality malls very soon.
North Bangalore’s Lakeside Habitat
Yet another tall structure, ‘Bearys Lakeside Habitat’, made news in North Bangalore for its architectural design.
Overlooking the Hebbal Lake, en route the upcoming International Airport, the Lakeside (Calicut-based N.A.Salim’s design) creation won the ‘Outstanding Concrete Structure Award – 2007’ from the Indian Concrete Institute.
The residential project, with 106 units comprising twin towers of 24 storeys, is interconnected with a bridge at the mid-level. The three-acre space, besides the towers, has landscaped gardens, jogging track and decks for seasonal flowers interspersed with gazebos.
One gets a view of the enchanting Hebbal Lake in different angles from the apartment.
The mirror pool encircling the entire ground level is named ‘360 Degrees’ for providing an expansive view from all around.
The Bearys Group have also brought in an integrated sewerage treatment plant with dual system and drip irrigation for taking care of the water needs of the landscaped garden, along with RWH features.
Well, that’s not all…their automated security system and garbage chutes have more to say.
