The Bruhat Bangalore Mahangara Palike (BBMP) is all geared up to give property owners yet another IT-enabled service. This time it will be for calculating the property tax. Come April they can use a simple calculator on the web and pay the tax on the net. No need to stand in long queues anymore.

The Hindu PropertyPlus in a chat with the Chief Financial Officer of the BBMP J.Manjunath learnt that the calculator will help the people to arrive at an exact sum of Capital Value-based System (CVS).

The calculator has been designed on the basis of the single window concept. The tax payer need not wander on the cyberspace looking for slots to chip in the details of his property. The solution will be “end all in one window” transaction.

The calculator will help the owner to quantify the value of his property based on the various rates, slabs and areas, extent of property and built-up area.
