Sandwich Marble edible idea

The product is totally hassle-free

Heard about a wide variety of marbles but how about something that is sandwiched? Here is a unique product that has been launched in the city recently by the Nitco Tiles.

Called ‘Sandwich Marble’, it is unique in nature and comes as a natural marble top of 4 mm thickness and a body of vitrified tile of thickness of 9 mm, both fused, giving it a thickness of 13 mm. Since it has a vitrified base, the product has been described by the company as being much stronger with reduced wastage/breakage risk during handling it. Each tile weighs approximately 9.63 kg.

It comes in pre-cut sizes of 600 by 600 mm (2 by 2 feet) and thus reducing the wastage risks. Since the marble usually comes in slabs and does not get in pre-cut format almost 25 per cent to 30 per cent wastage is estimated and the same is done away with the Sandwich Marble, says John K. Mammen, Regional Manager, Nitco Tiles.

The product has been launched at Opal Floorings, at Srinagar Colony. There is no hassle of polishing.

As an entry price, the product is made available at Rs.380 per sft.
