Unique pre-cut marble launched

Heard about a wide variety of marbles but how about something that is sandwiched? Here is a unique product that has been launched recently by Nitco Tiles.

Called ‘Sandwich Marble’, it is unique in nature and comes as a natural marble top of 4 mm thickness and a body of vitrified tile of thickness of 9 mm, both fused, giving it a thickness of 13 mm.

Since it has a vitrified base, the product has been described by the company as being much stronger, with reduced wastage/breakage risk while handling. Each tile weighs approximately 9.63 kg.

It comes in pre-cut sizes of 600 by 600 mm (2 by 2 feet) thus reducing wastage. Since marble usually comes in slabs and is not pre-cut, the wastage is estimated to be 25 to 30 per cent.

This wastage has been done away with in the case of Sandwich Marble, says John K. Mammen, Regional Manager, Nitco Tiles.
