Cool your computer lest it crashes!
In right conditions: It is essential to keep computers at select temperatures while working.
Computing can be a good experience till the computer crashes due to heat. With mercury levels rising, electronic goods yearn to be kept at cool temperatures to stay away from the risk of overheating. Like any other appliance, computers need to be kept at most select temperatures while working. Therefore, it is necessary to look into measures like ventilation, installing internal cooling fans and if possible, use slot coolers. For starters, placin
g the tower is a crucial aspect. Most CPUs are kept in closed quarters of the computer table. The table must have adequate space for CPU to breathe easy, allowing more air to circulate in and around the tower.Any temperature below 50 degrees centigrade is considered as optimal temperature. Once the temperature exceeds 50 degrees, it is time one should look for a proper cooling solution for the computer. Therefore it is advisable to keep the tower in an open space rather than in closed areas where the ventilation is somewhat less.
Another trick is to use additional cooling fans in the tower. The processor comes with fans that try to keep internal temperatures at control. Additional fans that are fixed at sides of the tower cost Rs.30 to Rs.40, depending on size and quality. Fans used for processors start from Rs.200 and go up to Rs.450, considering the type and make of processor. Traders say fans help keep temperatures low to a good extent and setting up extra ones help boost computer’s performance. “For a computer that is on for hours together, it is advisable to have extra fans on the side panels of the tower. The processor is put to work profusely when multiple applications are being used and it is necessary to see that the system does not over heat”, says Bharath Kumar, software professional and a gaming enthusiast.
Homes that do not have air-conditioners installed have to tackle heat by using extra fans and keep the environment cool, especially during summer months. “An AC is preferable if the computer is being used continuously. If it gets too hot, the CPU will shut itself down if the processor is AMD or throttle itself down, if it is Intel. Generally, the lower the temperature, the better”, informs K. Kumar, a senior technical support official at one of the leading software companies.
A plethora of cooling solutions is available on the Internet too. From computer fans, CPU coolers for various processors, hardware coolers, system memory coolers to water cooling kits, these are the ultimate accessories that help keep the computer at best lowest temperatures. In addition to these products, cooling accessories are also available for note books and thermal sensors that notify the temperature of the computer.
