For all your needs: Services of relocation companies are getting popular. —

Be it Indians visiting foreign countries on business, foreigners coming to India on short-term official trips or even relocation to different states, there is help at hand in not just packing and moving household articles but also finding a house in the new place, getting to know the city or town or hiring furniture.

Concept

Though the concept is yet to catch on in Coimbatore, services of relocation companies are getting popular in the major cities.

Some of the main sectors that avail of such services for their clients or employees are the Information Technology, IT Enabled Services and automobile.

Business

These services ease the task for the corporate companies that want to relocate their employees or expand business to new areas.

“We are a one-stop shop solution provider for expatriates,” says Anupama Arvind, Head of India Destination Services of Global Adjustments Limited.

The company is into relocation services for the last 13 years. It has tie-ups with corporates and when someone has to move to a new place or just go on a short-term trip to a different country, the company tries to understand their requirements in detail beforehand and offers assistance on a range of needs such as housing, rentals, and documents.

Some people come just to see and understand the city. Some others are looking out for business opportunities. So, their needs vary.

Comfortable

“These services make their passage into the new country easy and comfortable,” she says.

The company now offers domestic relocation services too. “Pan-India, this is active now.”

Explaining the need for such assistance, Ms. Anupama says people may have a different picture of the place that they are going to visit or stay.

Network

By training them and helping them even for smaller needs, it helps build goodwill and a network.

“Relocation itself is a big move and adjustment.” So people need time to settle down and again they may come back to the company for information on something like finding a club. Such information is usually provided free-of-cost, she says.

Training

Apart from regular services, the Writer Corporation helps in getting gas and cable connections, finding a driver, etc. Be it short-term or long-term stays, it also provides city orientation and cross-culture training.

There is a growing requirement for these services, says a representative of the company.Further, it also helps companies find commercial space in different cities.

Request

These can be ready-to-use office space or just the warm shell. These companies do cater to the needs in cities such as Coimbatore too if there is a request.

The demand for these services will increase in Coimbatore when more multinational companies come in and when the IT sector takes off on a larger scale, says an industrialist here. Now, most of these needs are met by the human resource department of the unit here or by the overseas clients directly.
