The right place for rejuvenation

From an essential routine to a meticulously planned lavish exercise, your bath is now a transformed comfort. The accessories speak of poetry.

It is said that during the course of one’s life, a human being on an average spends 25 years sleeping, five years eating and four years in the bath. It is no wonder that over the years bathing is becoming an enjoyable experience, rather than a quick, essential routine.

Realising the importance of private baths, the perception of want, need and comfort began to have newer perspectives that were fuelled with technology. When equipment, machinery and expertise came in for extending a hand, it was aesthetics that brought out a revolution in the market. Today we have architects and interior designers fashioning several designs for a washroom with state-of-the-art accessories for making bath a sophisticated experience.

Custom-made fixtures

Apart from the crucial civil works, plumbing, and maintenance issues that are basic to a bath space, decorative accessories that fall in line for functional use have gained momentum. Take the latest glamour range from Johnson, for instance. During these days of the scorching rays, one respite could be from Milano — the flagship brand of H & R Johnson — that unveils a new range of shower enclosures for a spa experience at home that is touted to leave you rejuvenated.

Says the showroom representative, “Its computerised steam multifunction and the ventilator fan enables you to time your bath while the multi-flow shower, top shower, body massage jets and foot massage tips gently touch your skin, for a so-called ‘perfect body massage’. For a sensory experience, one can switch on the music and in case you don’t want to be bothered by phone calls, just detach the hands-free telephone and allow the music and dripping water to comfort your mind.”

The enclosures come in three varieties — Royal, Regal and Supreme — and are equipped with tempered glass to ensure safety and protection. Because tempered glass, if broken, crushes into very fine pieces that do not have sharp edges like glass that usually shatters into large pieces. The smooth sliding doors of shower enclosures have design and precision for a quick installation. Priced upwards of Rs. 1,25,000, all varieties and models are displayed at the House of Johnson stores and are available with all their dealers.

Highlighter series

Johnson’s special Highlighter Series is a visual arrest of your living and bath. “Just as your coloured hair streak or a tattoo converts you from solemn to stylish, the new Highlighter Series from Johnson will help you win reviews for your elegant taste,” says the representative.

Highlighter series is a never-before concept that aims to break the monotony of the erstwhile design, says the Johnson brochure. Available in two sizes, the products are meant to coordinate with the matching floor tiles. Suited for residential as well as commercial property, the colours are vibrant and are priced at Rs.195 per sq.ft.

Hygiene and glamour

Apart from being functional, bathrooms are increasingly linked to hygiene and glamour now.

Says the Parryware representative, “Remember the days when bathrooms were tucked away in a corner? The irony is, from being an outcast, they now occupy an integral place inside homes!”

Even transforming an age-old bath area and bringing in some modest and functional shower and sanitary hygiene with mirror and basins are a time-consuming and laborious. This is where Parryware steps in.

The company’s Customer Care Centres (CCC) work throughout the year in about 25 places in the country. Parryware has 70 plumbers, 14 supervisors, 12 franchisees, and five executives working under a head to have this one-stop solution offer going. The trained technician examines your bathroom, suggests solutions and then brings in his army of men to answer your requirements, in a budget that suits you.
